Washington Elite Skating School
Washington Elite Skating School is proud to offer the most qualified and experienced coaching team in the DC area. Our coaches include former World and Olympic competitors, National Team members, and internationally recognized instructors who have trained champions at every level — from complete beginners to elite athletes.
All private lessons take place at the Mount Vernon Ice Arena (Fairfax County). Private instructor fees are paid directly to the coach. Skaters are responsible for ice time and skate rental separately.

Emme Porter
Skating Skills • Freestyle • Choreography • Music Editing • Ice Dance
Emme Porter is a highly accomplished figure skating coach and choreographer with over 20 years of experience in the sport. A former Senior International Ice Dance competitor, Emme is also a US national medalist in collegiate freestyle and synchronized skating. She is the former Skating Director of the Mount Vernon Rec Center and spent seven seasons coaching and choreographing for the Washington Capitals Red Rockers. Emme is passionate about athlete development and performance. She brings both elite-level experience and a supportive, team-driven coaching philosophy to every session.

Bruce Porter
Power Skating • Ice Dance • Figure Skating & Hockey Skills
Bruce Porter Jr. played Division I hockey in Massachusetts before injuries led him to ice dancing, where he made the US National Team and later competed in Europe, earning a spot on the European National Team and competing in qualifying events for the Sochi Olympics. With nearly 30 years of coaching experience, Bruce has elite-level expertise across all disciplines, from guiding skaters through gold medal Freestyle, Ice Dance, and Moves-in-the-Field tests to teaching thousands of kids and adults — from complete beginners to highly trained athletes. He has an extensive background in adaptive skating, including decades with the NOVA Cool Cats (autism ice hockey), coaching blind veterans and visually impaired youth, and helping start over half of the blind hockey teams competing in the US today. Specializing in ice dancing, power skating, stick handling, and shooting at top speeds while building confidence on the ice, Bruce creates a fun, supportive environment for youth, adults, and everyone in between to improve skills and discover the joy of skating.

Sergey Korovin
Jump & Spin Technique • Skating Skills • Choreography
Sergey is a National, International, World and Olympic coach with over 30 years of coaching experience. He is a former member of the Soviet Union National Team and World University Winter Games Silver Medalist. Sergey has a Bachelor degree in Choreography from State Institute of Theatrical Arts in Moscow, Russia. He specializes in Jump and Spin Technique, Skating Skills, and Choreography and accepts students of all levels.

Bella Porter teaches beginners in freestyle, dance, and moves in the field.
